In the show premiering this week, the RCI Digital Stage is taken over by ghosts, living dead and werewolves, creatures of the night that move between this world and the other one and torture the lives of those left behind. According to director Alexandru Dabija’s satirical take, working on hilarious stories by Cătălin Ștefănescu and Ada Milea, these recurring appearances and the beliefs surrounding them provide the context for humorous meditations about the fractures between cultures, outlooks, and ways of life.

"Spooks" is part of „Constantin Chiriac Presents”, a lineup curated for the RCI Digital Stage by the influential actor, manager and festival director from a roster of recent productions of The ”Radu Stanca” National Theater of Sibiu.

With a conversation between Constantin Chiriac, founder and President of the Sibiu International Theater Festival, and Alicia Adams, VP International Programming at John Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Facebook premiere on Wednesday, December 9 at 8 p.m. New York & Toronto time / 5 p.m. Los Angeles & Vancouver time. The recording will remain available on our page for 12 hours. (Please follow the link to watch.)

There is always a sort of a game, more or less serious, between 'on the other side' and 'on this side'. Depending on the ways people see the world, wherever they are from, they imagine possible maps of the journeys between life and death. The more unknown the territory requiring a map is, the more creative the imagination of the cartographers becomes.” (Cătălin Ștefănescu)

“I love the 'heart choking' humor that the show presents. The cackles aren’t disturbed by the presence of the coffins, but death is present and allows many things from us, because, anyway, she has the final say, the final 'joke' is always hers.” (Ada Milea)
