Life after the pandemic as experimental poetry
While the pandemic seems to loosen its grip and the world bounces back from isolation and fear, the new reality that awaits us is still pretty much the realm of imagination. We have invited some of the most important Romanian contemporary authors to share their take on how they think life would look like when the ordeal is over. Our program continues with Răzvan Țupa, one of the masters of experimental poetry in the Romanian contemporary literary landscape. The English version is offered by Romanian-American translator and author Andreea Scridon.

Răzvan Ţupa (b. 1975) studied History of Religions and Culture and currently works as a journalist. His books include "Fetish" (Semne Publishing House, 2001), which won the Mihai Eminescu National Award for literary debut, "romanian bodies" (Cartea Românească, 2005) and "poetic. the sky in delft and other romanian bodies" (Casa de Editură Max Blecher, 2011). He has performed poetry in Berlin, Bratislava, Budapest, New York, Prague, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Tel Aviv, and Zagreb. His poems were included in "No Longer Poetry – New Romanian Poetry", an anthology published in the UK in 2007. His verses were also published in "A Terrace in Prague”(Litteraria Pragensia) and "The Vanishing Point that Whisles” (Talisman House), two poetry anthologies in English published in Czech Republic and the US in 2011. In October 2013 he was a resident of the Art OMI program in New York and, in September 2019, of Gabriela Tudor Residency at Forum Danca, Lisbon. He was the founder and organizer of "Poetics of the Quotidian", a series of weekly literary meetings that went on for five years (145 meetings). The original format was changed in 2010 to „Atelierelational” ("The Relations Workshop"), a writing workshop aiming to promote a relational approach to poetry. He also published „Poeticile cotidianului – de la seri de literatură în mişcare la Republica Poetica" ("The Poetics of the Quotidian - From Literary Evenings on the Move to the Poetica Republic", CDPL, 2015), documenting the literary meetings that he organised between 2005 and 2010. Țupa is a member of Pen Club Romania.
