Today's woman literary voice belongs to Brooklyn-based photographer and activist DANIELA GROZA, a former victim of sexual abuse, who reads from her "Letter to My 7 Years Old Self", a disturbing testimony about overcoming Evil in its purest form.

Daniela Groza is a taxi driver and non-binary photographer living and working in New York and Romania. She immigrated to the US at the tender age of 16 and has been living in New York for the last 12 years. After trying out a few vocational trajectories, she settled on art: documentary photography and text art. Her photography work can be seen on danielagroza.com, queerjoy.world, and queero.org, an archival project recording images and stories from women and woman-identifying individuals from the Romanian queer community. Daniela is the founder of bekindforreal.org, an art project that relies on the idea of sharing by providing financial support to a family in Romania. She has been featured in Elle Magazine and has contributed to New York Arts Magazine, ReFORMA, DoR, SCENA9, and CUTRA. Her first TEDx talk took place in February 2021.

Women’s voices dominate the literature written by Romanians in North America. Co-curated with author and academic Cristina A. Bejan, Romanian Women Voices in North America turns the spotlight on this phenomenal wave of creativity and brings together the largest group of Romanian-American and Romanian-Canadian women writers ever assembled in cyberspace. The program’s second season features another inspiring and diverse line-up of authors, including Raluca Albu, Adina Dabija, Daniela Groza, Felicia Mihali, Adriana Oniță, Doris Plantus, Anca Roncea, Elena Secotă, and Saviana Stănescu.
