About The Event

Between November 15-16, all cinephiles in the Twin Cities area were invited to step into the rich world of contemporary Romanian cinema at the Romanian Film Festival 2025: Between Shadow and Light. Hosted at the Landmark Center in St. Paul, this annual celebration brought some of the most compelling and critically acclaimed new Romanian films to Minnesota.

Organized by the Heritage Organization of Romanian Americans in Minnesota, in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York, the festival showcased bold storytelling, emotional depth, and the distinctive artistry that has placed Romanian cinema on the world map. The program invited audiences to explore a selection of films that challenge conventions and illuminate the complexity of the human experience.

Free screenings, English subtitles, and stories that linger long after the final frame!
