With the support of The Romanian Cultural Institute in New York, Anca Poterasu Gallery returns to NADA New York to present recent photography and textile works by Aurora Kiraly and Megan Dominescu, which explore identity, perception, and social critique. Drawing on personal memory, domesticity, and digital culture, the two artists reflect on contemporary female experience and the societal structures they navigate.

Aurora Kiraly (b. 1970) is an artist working at the intersection of photography with drawing, textile art, or installations, exploring how the mind records, relieves, remembers. She is particularly interested in exploring feminist theories in relation to identity-making and the status of women in society. Her works relate to complex connections between events, and the public and private spheres of experience. Since 2007, she has taught at the university's Photography and Dynamic Image Department. Her projects span from self-reflective photographic series to multimedia installations and are held in major collections, including MoMA New York, the National Museum of Contemporary Art Bucharest, the European Parliament's Contemporary Art Collection, and other private collections in Europe and North America.

Megan Dominescu (b. 1997, Netherlands) creates bold, humorous textile works inspired by her multicultural background and internet culture. Her practice combines satire, pop references, and domestic craft to explore cultural contrasts and celebrate the absurd. She is a graduate of UNArte Bucharest and part of the artist-run space MOXA20.

Anca Poterasu Gallery, established in 2011 in Bucharest’s historic center, is dedicated to promoting Romanian contemporary art both locally and abroad. It represents established names such as Kinema Ikon, Iosif Király, Aurora Király, and Matei Bejenaru, alongside emerging names like Megan Dominescu. Since 2019, its location on Popa Soare 26 has hosted key art talks with international curators and artists, alongside an ongoing program of residencies and curatorial projects.

NADA New York 2025 will take place from May 7 to 11 at The Starrett-Lehigh Building in Chelsea. The fair will feature a diverse and expanded selection from 111 galleries, art spaces, and non-profit organizations spanning 19 countries and 50 cities, including works from 65 NADA Members and 54 first-time exhibitors. The Anca Poterasu Gallery's booth will be located at C204 booth.
