Teeming Romanian Film Festival in Seattle Ready to Kick Off

We are joining forces again with the indefatigable team of American Romanian Cultural Society for the 2018 anniversary edition of the Romanian Film Festival in Seattle, one of the most impactful Romanian showcases in North America. The multifaceted event will take place at the iconic SIFF Cinema Uptown between 2-4 November.

In tune with the Halloween spirit of the entire week, the Seattleites are invited to the take an imaginary journey to Romania and its “Uncanny Worlds”through a series of feature films, documentaries, exhibitions & talks questioning the unusual and often disturbing aspects of reality, history, politics, and everyday life.

The festival’s special guests include, along with international film star and thespian Maia Morgenstern, helmers Daniel Sandu, Andrei Dăscălescu, Elena Beucă and Bogdan Darev, actress Iulia Paula Niculescu, and painter and illustrator Daniel Ursache.

With the participation of: Maryna Ajaja, Programmer at Seattle International Film Festival, Vivian Hua, Executive Director of Northwest Film Forum and Editor-in-Chief of REDEFINE magazine, and Dorian Branea, Director of RCI New York.

TheRomanian Film Festival in Seattle, launched 5 years ago, went from strength to strength due to the hard work of a devoted team, growing from a relatively small ethnic community event with an attendance of around 750 people to a sought-after festival with a record audience of approximately 2,300 in 2017. The present edition of the RFFS is organized in partnership by the American Romanian Cultural Society, the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York and Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF).
