About The Event

We are pleased to renew our support to the indefatigable team behind the Romanian Film Festival in Seattle, one of the most impactful showcases of Romanian cinematic creativity in North America. The 6th edition of the festival, entitled "One Eye Laughing, One Eye Crying: Stories OFF the Wall", celebrates 30 years since the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe. 

Special guests: actor Florin Piersic Jr., filmmaker Mona Nicoară, director and cinematographer Teodora Totoiu, author Monica Filimon, Moldovan actor and director Ion Borsh, Akila Somasegar (Philantropist, GirlUp, Seattle), Magda Matache (Instructor and Director of the Roma Program, Harvard University), Cristiana Grigore (Founder Roma Peoples Project, Columbia University), Raluca Negulescu-Balaci (Executive Director, UiPath Foundation), and Pulitzer Prize winner for journalism Jacqui Banaszynsk.
