About The Event

Our literary series showcasing the fantastic creativity of Romanian female authors of North America continues with a poetry reading performed by Toronto-based Romanian-Canadian poet Irina Moga, a polyglot writer at home in Romanian, English and French. The poems belong to her 2020 collection, "Sea Glass Circe", and to a volume entitled "Variations sans palais".

Watch on our Facebook, YouTube, IGTV and Website on Tuesday, June 29, 2 p.m. EST or any time later.

IRINA MOGA is a Romanian-born Canadian author and a member of the Writers’ Union of Canada (TWUC). She published two poetry books in Romanian prior to coming to Canada. "Sea Glass Circe", her fourth book, was selected for an official launch as part of the 2020 Toronto LitUp!, Toronto International Festival of Authors (TIFA). Her latest poetry book, written in French, "Variations sans palais", was published with Éditions L’Harmattan (France) in 2020. Irina’s work has appeared in literary magazines in Canada and the US.

Women’s voices dominate the literature written by Romanians in North America. Co-curated with author and academic Cristina A. Bejan, Romanian Women Voices in North America turns the spotlight on this phenomenal wave of creativity and brings together the largest group of Romanian-American and Romanian-Canadian women writers ever assembled in cyberspace. The program’s second season features another inspiring and diverse line-up of authors, including Raluca Albu, Adina Dabija, Daniela Groza, Felicia Mihali, Irina Moga, Adriana Oniță, Doris Plantus, Stella Rădulescu, Elena Secotă, and Saviana Stănescu.
