About The Event
On the occasion of Brâncuși Day, on February 19, we launch, in partnership with Art Safari and as part of the ArtSociety initiative, a dialogue with some of the greatest museums of the world about the universal influence of the great Romanian artist.
Absorbing influences of astonishing diversity, Constantin Brâncuși's work has become, at its turn, an important source of inspiration for artists on all continents. Starting in New York, we embark on a journey around the globe to explore the enduring impact of the great Romanian artist and our first stop is the Noguchi Museum where Curator of Research Matthew Kirsch challenges us to rediscover Brâncuși through the influence he had on another famous creator, Isamu Noguchi.
Fascinated by essences like his Romanian master, the American-Japanese artist aspired to capture them not only in his sculptures, but also in the gardens he imagined and in the household objects he designed, in the attempt to integrate art in common places and in people's daily lives.
Don’t miss the premiere of the film on our Facebook, IGTV and YouTube on February 19 at 2 p.m. New York & Toronto time / 11 a.m. Los Angeles & Vancouver time / 9 p.m. Bucharest time. Watch also on our website and other social media accounts anytime later.
